Dear friends, we are enormously proud of our French collection consisting of 6 beautiful contemporary pigments. We are constantly looking for the environment and human-friendly pigments around the world to make our collection more versatile and give more creative options to you, our dear artists. Environment impact is our everyday conversation topic. We started with earth pigments, investigated their history, and found out that many of them are becoming a scarce resource. Also, the process of pigment obtaining might hurt Mother Earth’s flesh and have a tremendous ecological footprint. Then we started to investigate human-made pigments as an alternative. Because nothing is white or black. One is for sure – we will never use pigments that are toxic and harmful to ourselves or our dogs secretly stealing them or kids eating candies with hands in paint or husbands who mix their coffee mug with our painting water. But we strongly believe that there can be found a nice balance of human-made and earth pigments. Being human and nature friendly is one of our central values. On a very personal level. We mull our watercolors on lands that belong and have belonged to our families and ancestors for centuries and hope to pass them as beautiful and clean as possible to the next generations. And here they are, human-made all from France:
Mixes nicely with other natural and human-made pigments. For best performance add a few drops of water some minutes before starting to paint. It will reactivate the pigment and will be more fluid.
All our watercolors are handmade from pigment or pigment mixes, binders, and essential oils as conservative. Binder is made by ourselves from gum arabic, natural honey, and water. Our watercolors have a flowery scent, with lemongrass as the top note and sandalwood in the base note.
