The Butterfly Collection is a collaboration with our ambassador, wildlife artist Victoria Parsons. We have already Wolf palette put together by Vicki and this spring she did an amazing work on studying butterflies around the world and picked 15 colors that allow to paint most of our planet’s butterflies. Here is what Vicki says about the palette:
“I find as a Nature Artist there is always something wonderful to paint and draw in all seasons of the year . But the summer months are particularly inspiring due to the amazing mixes of the greens of trees and plants and the bright colours of flowers both wild and cultivated.
However, there is something universally uplifting about butterflies. We cannot help but smile when we see them gently fluttering from flower to flower, harming nothing and bothering no one, simply gathering sweet nectar and living their fragile yet beautiful life. They remind us to appreciate the quiet wonders of nature and the fleeting beauty that surrounds us every day.
The beautiful pigments I have chosen in this collection together with their countless blends reflect the remarkable diversity of butterfly species and provides a palette capable of capturing the beauty of most of the world’s butterflies. I have had a wonderful time putting this collection together and hope you also enjoy using these remarkable colours developed by Deep Deep Light.”

Mixes nicely with other natural and human-made pigments. For best performance add a few drops of water some minutes before working with it. It will reactivate the pigment and will be more fluid.
All our watercolors are handmade from pigment or pigment mixes, binders, and essential oils as conservative. The binder is made by ourselves from gum arabic, natural honey or glycerine, and water. Our watercolors have a flowery scent, with lemongrass as the top note and sandalwood as the base note
