Cedar teal. Pigment mix (numbers PB29, PG17, PR122) in half-pan watercolor. Fits in all palettes designed for half-pans.
Cedar teal is a highly granulating color – when applied wet it is a teal green-blue. If you use a lot of water, lighter Rosso Magenta will appear while drying creating magnificent combinations of dark green, blue, and pink.
Tiny misfortunes turn into something when by accident we got new color – cedar teal. We wanted to mix Rūta’s dream but in the middle of mixing discovered that a jar of one of the pigments necessary is… empty. Decided to continue a bit later and then looked at the swatch. Hm. Here we are. A happy accident. Teal because it is teal and Cedar because one of our tiny factory homes is called “Ciedras” or Cedar.
Mixes nicely with other natural and human-made pigments. For best performance add a few drops of water some minutes before starting to work with it. It will reactivate the pigment and will be more fluid.
All our watercolors are handmade from pigment or pigment mixes, binders, and essential oils as conservative. Binder is made by ourselves from gum arabic, natural honey, and water. Our watercolors have a flowery scent, with lemongrass as top note and sandalwood in the base note.
