Lullaby palette is put together by an incredible artist, part of DeepDeepLight closest family  – our Santa Smoļaka. You know her as the one who is behind DeepDeepLight photos and emails, but she is an amazing artist and daydreamer. Lullaby Palette was a beautiful project we all followed and took part in, a birth of new color Lullaby including. Here is what Santa is saying about the palette and Lullaby color:

Lullaby palette hums about colors that make the heart sing, make it come alive, and bring it home.
It’s about dreaming, playing, and never growing up. About a world that we can create and see only with our hearts. It’s real, but at the same time magical.

Lullabies help us calm down, fall asleep, daydream, or travel to another world, and it’s the same with colors – only sometimes they sing so loudly that I can’t sleep before I play with them – and I love it. They are like friends from childhood on summer days, running to each other’s houses and asking to come out to play.

“When I open my little tin and meet my colors, wake them up and paint with them, I feel like I’m entering Narnia or Alice’s Wonderland, where the most unbelievable things can happen.
I go there and I can forget about everything else, or I can think about ‘everything else’ while painting, but without getting lost. Since I can remember, this world has always been something I couldn’t completely understand, so I created my own. A place where small things matter, where the most unbelievable things are believable, and where I can be who I am.

For a moment, I felt like I had lost my world, but colors have brought it back. The Lullaby palette holds some bright colors and some muted ones. I can paint winter flowers and all the spring and summer flowers, and all the magic that autumn brings – houses, elephants flying with air balloons, or a bear on one wheel – everything that everyone sees, and all the things that live only in my imagination.

I can stay at home and paint, yet experience the most amazing adventures, or I can pack my colors, brushes, and sketchbook, go outside, and paint everything I see there. Colors tell stories without words.”

Lullaby color came as a need for the soul. At first, it was a need for a starry night, just without stars. Then it was a need for a second player in a chess game. Something that the Milky Way can play with.

It came already a while ago, but it was not used much. It didn’t have a name, it didn’t feel real. Until the right moment came for all the notes to be composed, and for Lullaby to be seen and heard.

Lullaby is deep, dark, and strong, but at the same time – it gives peace, it is gentle and hums silently before sleep. It’s the shadow, it’s the sea, it’s the sky, and a dark blue ribbon around a gift for a friend.

Lullaby was composed to become the soul of the Lullaby palette.

There are three palette options: Lullaby,  and two smaller options with the colors from Lullaby palette – Daydreamers and Nighdreamers palettes.

Daydreamers Lullaby  is a set of 10 colors in a tin for 10.

When I close my eyes, the Daydreamers palette brings me to those bright and sunny childhood mornings. An open window. Warm sun and a light wind filling the whole room, and nowhere to rush. A slow and calm morning with reading, painting, or daydreaming.

I wake up and feel my bare feet in the grass. I would like to stay a little bit longer, but the colors are calling me to play with them. I will go now.

Nightdreamers Lullaby is a set of 10 colors in a tin for 10.

The night comes, and everything is silent. I see the dark blue sky filled with millions of stars and the brightest full moon. It makes the room so light that I want to keep my eyes open and witness all the magic that starry nights bring.

I want to sleep, but there is always something to be painted. I open my tin of Nightdreamers Lullaby.

I listen. I paint. I slowly enter the world of dreams.

Mixes nicely with other natural and human-made pigments. For best performance add a few drops of water some minutes before working with it. It will reactivate the pigment and will be more fluid.

All our watercolors are handmade from pigment or pigment mixes, binders, and essential oils as conservative. The binder is made by ourselves from gum arabic, natural honey or glycerine, and water. Our watercolors have a flowery scent, with lemongrass as the top note and sandalwood as the base note.
