Be wild watercolor brushes

A good watercolor brush is a treasure. It is an extension of our hand, and dipping a brush into a watercolor pan is like opening a door to another world. We spent quite a while finding the perfect brushes for our watercolors and our way of living. We live with watercolors and take them everywhere. It means our brushes have to be safe for our wanderlust spirits. We wanted them to be pocket brushes with a protective cap that turns into a handle when painting.

Our brushes also have to be beautiful and elegant, and able to be as wild or as precise as we want them. We wanted versatility – brushes that can be precise yet hold enough water for beautiful washes of granulating DeepDeepLights.

We had long discussions and ran many tests, as we wanted to use the best new materials to save squirrels, sables, and other small animals. We wanted beautiful, guilt-free brushes that can be taken anywhere, and here they are.

We are happy we found them and want to share them with you! Made especially for DeepDeepLight by Tintoretto – professionals in brushmaking.

At the moment we have 2 brushes in “be wild” line (see “be free” line here):

• size 2 round: traditional style mop from synthetic Kazan squirrel, hair length 18 mm, diameter 4 mm – for precision and details, thin lines, and when you need highly pigmented work. It is long enough and holds a good amount of water, so it works well for filling larger areas with paint. Perfect for mixing paints on the palette – it can take on a very pigmented load.
• size 8 round: traditional style mop from synthetic Kazan squirrel, hair length 24 mm, diameter 7 mm – a bit larger brush for washes, with a very precise tip for fine details. Depending on the amount of water or speed, it is possible to get both dry brush effects and smooth washes. Big enough for larger sketchbook washes.

You can add a brush case made by Lotte’s papery – rustic leather case that will protect your brushes even more and that will wear off nicely with a time.

You can add your custom palettes here (or use any of our ready-made palettes) to your brushes.

All watercolor palettes come in tins in appropriate sizes. Please let us know if you would like to have another size with your paints.
