Potter’s pink

Potter’s pink. Single pigment, (PR233), half-pan watercolor. Fits in all palettes designed for half-pans.

Granulating, pale old pink.

I am Potter’s Pink. I heard you wanted to see me. I come from England, invented some two hundred years ago in Staffordshire by some alchemist potter. There have been many other pinks and roses after my birth but some tribes are loyal to my muting granulating power. And I heard a call of Dragonfly. I might be a color of nymphs or a delicate touch of a wing. And yes, because of my nephew Harry, I am invited into this sacred brotherhood of Dragonfly.

Every time we mix a new pigment we try to find this color in nature. So we took a jar of Potter’s pink and went out to August garden. And all of a sudden we noticed it everywhere. A tip of the dandelion leaf. The stem of raspberries, a tiny stripe in apple, a cheek of a poppy head. Early signs of autumn we didn’t notice before. And it seems that this color is silently ever-present. We just don’t notice it. Because that’s how it should be.

Potter’s pink is one of the colors in the Art Nouveau Dragonfly set.

All our watercolors mix nicely with other natural and human-made pigments. For best performance add a few drops of water some minutes before starting to paint. It will reactivate the pigment and will be more fluid.

All our watercolors are handmade from pigment or pigment mixes, binders, and essential oils as conservative. Binder is made by ourselves from gum arabic, natural honey, and water. Our watercolors have a flowery scent, with lemongrass as the top note and sandalwood in the base note.
