Paris Blue. Pigment number PB27, single pigment half-pan watercolor. Fits in all palettes designed for half-pans.

I am Paris blue. I was born by accident more than 300 years ago in German alchemist and paintmaker Diesbach’s laboratory. He was making some red pigment, missed an ingredient, went to his friend another alchemist borrowed it, and instead of red got me. They called me Prussian blue. And some others still do. A century later I traveled to Paris and that was my rockstar moment. Painters in Paris were craving real blue to complete their primary palettes and I became the pigment used in every painting! Oh, those times of fame… That’s how art people in the world discovered me and true artists still call me Paris blue. There is also a song. Google. Quite sad. Maybe too sad. So might be things with Paris. What lovely people at DeepDeepLight factory have found out – never play with me outside on a windy day. Then everything becomes blue – snow, Mao, a new jacket, everything!

Paris Blue is a part of our French collection – environment and human-friendly contemporary pigment collection.

Mixes nicely with other natural and human-made pigments. For best performance add a few drops of water some minutes before starting to work with it. It will reactivate the pigment and will be more fluid.

All our watercolors are handmade from pigment or pigment mixes, binders, and essential oils as conservative. Binder is made by ourselves from gum arabic, natural honey, and water. Our watercolors have a flowery scent, with lemongrass as top note and sandalwood in the base note.
