It is incredible how inspiration guides us through paint designing process! Every time we have a feeling of creating new paint from several pigments there is something like little voice becoming louder and louder. And then it turns into a clear need with a certain idea in our heads. To communicate it between ourselves we try to put in words and then as a rule of thumb we immediately find something in our garden or surrounding that becomes a prototype. This time it is a jay feather. And we are in love with the end result
Dark saturated grey-blue with settling black particles in granulation. When used with a lot of water, heavier natural black pigment particles set and lighter blue float giving alive blue mix. Mixes nicely with other natural and human-made pigments. For best performance add a few drops of water some minutes before starting to work with it. It will reactivate the pigment and will be more fluid.
All our watercolors are handmade from pigment or pigment mixes, binders, and essential oils as conservative. Binder is made by ourselves from gum arabic, natural honey, and water. Our watercolors have a flowery scent, with lemongrass as top note and sandalwood in the base note.
