Description

Chrome oxide green. Pigment number PG17, single pigment half-pan watercolor. Fits in all palettes designed for half-pans.

In cities, I am a color of old church roofs. In laboratories, they call me chrome oxide and I have a chemical formula. I am also called eskolite when found as a part of the Mother Earth. And in Italy, they call me olive green. Olive green as the color of the tree leaves. Not the fruit in jars in the shop. Here, at DeepDeepLight home, I am willow green.

Chrome oxide green, which is nearly pure Cr2O3, is the most stable green pigment known. It is used for coloring roofing granules, cement, and plasters.

Opaque cool green pigment. Must have for painting trees and nature. Mixes nicely with other natural and human-made pigments. For best performance add a few drops of water some minutes before starting to work with it. It will reactivate the pigment and will be more fluid.

All our watercolors are handmade from pigment or pigment mixes, binders, and essential oils as conservative. Binder is made by ourselves from gum arabic, natural honey or vegan vegetable glycerin, and water. Our watercolors have a flowery scent, with lemongrass as top note and sandalwood in the base note.
