  • Art Nouveau Dragonfly set is made to celebrate our love for Art nouveau style and to dragonflies. We have a very special relationship with both phenomena. We both have very special relationships with dragonflies – had them long before we knew each other. Daina’s love for them is proof of believing in everyday miracles. Daina even uses dragonfly in her artist signature. There is something magical about dragonflies and just now thinking about them we discovered their dual life of nymphs that look like totally different bugs. And incredible metamorphosis of leaving an old body and becoming so admired creature is a pure miracle. And for Agnese dragonfly is a symbol of slow living. You can’t shepherd dragonflies if you are in fast mode. And that mindset became so obvious and became dominant for her. Leading to art, painting, and deepdeeplight. When our collection was ready we sat down and realized – it is so Art Nouveau. We live in Latvia and both have spent a reasonable time in Riga (Agnese was born in Riga and is a Riga girl through and through). Riga’s center as we know it today was rebuilt during Art Nouveau times – the beginning of the 20th century, and Riga has one of the largest art nouveau architecture collections in the world. For a very long time, we considered art nouveau and all house decorations inspired by nature a norm. Only recently we have discovered that having dragons, butterflies, pinecones, flowers, chestnuts, frogs, foxes, beetles, snails and our dear dragonflies in streets is quite a rare thing everywhere else in the world. That’s why we just needed a collection of art nouveau dragonfly. There are four colors in this set (4 half-pans in an aluminium tin):
    • dragonfly
    • river
    • potter’s pink
    • reed buff

Description

Art Nouveau Dragonfly set is made to celebrate our love for Art nouveau style and to dragonflies.

We live in Latvia and both have spent a reasonable time in our big city – Riga.

There are four colors in this set (4 half-pans in an aluminum tin):

All our watercolors mix nicely with other natural and human-made pigments. For best performance add a few drops of water some minutes before starting to paint. It will reactivate the pigment and will be more fluid.

All our watercolors are handmade from pigment or pigment mixes, binders, and essential oils as conservative. Binder is made by ourselves from gum arabic, natural honey, and water. Our watercolors have a flowery scent, with lemongrass as the top note and sandalwood in the base note.
