Winterlude is another beautiful collaboration between DeepDeepLight and our ambassador, amazing artist and storyteller Lily Moon. These are 2 winter palettes – Winterlude with 15 colors and Serenity with 8 colors. They beautifully complement each other and are self-sufficient as separate palettes as well. Here is what Lily says about Winterlude:
“Blanketed in nature’s bareness, Wintertime is when the wild colours can breathe easier and find the space they need to shine brighter. It’s a time when nature withdraws within itself, to heal, replenish, and step forward even stronger into Spring. An interlude…a period of self-reflection, self-evaluatio,n and self-discovery. Just like the trees which strip themselves of their leaves, so do we let go of all the unnecessary baggage piled onto ourselves throughout the year, and let our souls stand bare so we can see the wounds more clearly and treat them more effectively. Creating art, from deep within our psyche, expressing our purest, truest emotions, and immersing ourselves in our rawest colours, is what Winterlude is all about.
Winterlude (set of 15):
- Yellow Lichen: The inner light of trees, shining through the cracks of their rugged bark
- Bull Finch: A falling feather against the grey, delicate yet exuberantly joyful
- Manor Red: Heavy red velvet curtains to conceal – red succulent berries to nourish
- Haze Blue: The Winter sun drapes itself in a soothing blue sky
- Jay Blue: A clear Winter night sky, the perfect backdrop to thousands of sparkling stars
- Rhubarb: Winter grasses dancing in the wake of a passionate storm
- Midori: Evergreens, a reminder of nature’s resilience
- Cedar Teal: Tall, dark, hardy pines, nature’s guardians during its slumber
- Bilberry: Sweet, tangy jam on freshly baked bread
- Potter’s Pink: An earthy pink teapot, holding a steaming hot herbal brew
- Purple Reed: Mulled wine, with rose petals
- Light Umbra: The sun’s desaturated winter rays
- Bark: Bundles of firewood, bare trees in the distance
- Slate: If coldness had a colour, Slate would be it
- Mars Black: The heaviest of storm clouds, ominous yet in some unexplained way also comforting
Serenity (set of 8):
- Acorn Rust: The ever-glowing sun within our souls
- Darkling: Sparkles of frosty droplets on bare tree branches
- Starry Night: A magical cosmos in a single colour
- Tuff: Knitted violet woollen gloves to ward off the cold
- Daylily: A bright orange cosy scarf, to protect and comfort
- Meadowgreen: Warm green herbs, hanging over the fireplace to dry
- Indigo: A turbulent icy ocean
- Soul of the Oak: The silent winter song of the forest“.
Mixes nicely with other natural and human-made pigments. For best performance add a few drops of water some minutes before working with it. It will reactivate the pigment and will be more fluid.
All our watercolors are handmade from pigment or pigment mixes, binders, and essential oils as conservative. The binder is made by ourselves from gum arabic, natural honey or glycerine, and water. Our watercolors have a flowery scent, with lemongrass as the top note and sandalwood as the base note
