Reed Buff

15,00

Reed Buff. Pigment mix ( PW4 and PY43), half-pan watercolor. Fits in all palettes designed for half-pans.

Opaque, light sand beige with visible raw sienna particles.

I am Reed Buff. I live by the River together with Dragonfly. I am always there. Almost always. The only time I disappear is only after harsh winters when ice brings me to the sea. But I soon grow again. Because every river needs a reed and every dragonfly needs a reed. And every reed needs a river and a dragonfly.

Our Reed Buff is a mixture of zinc white and raw sienna. It will have noticeable particles of our sand like sienna creating its own character and facture. Word buff first was used in 1590 to describe buff leather. Other names for buff type color are Gold Nugget, Vegas Gold, Avocado, Tan, Sand, Natural, and frequently Yellow Haze. We call it Reed buff. Because that is how we see it.

Dragonfly blue is one of the colors in the Art Nouveau Dragonfly set.

All our watercolors mix nicely with other natural and human-made pigments. For best performance add a few drops of water some minutes before starting to paint. It will reactivate the pigment and will be more fluid.

All our watercolors are handmade from pigment or pigment mixes, binders, and essential oils as conservative. Binder is made by ourselves from gum arabic, natural honey, and water. Our watercolors have a flowery scent, with lemongrass as the top note and sandalwood in the base note.
